We are looking to employ a Band 3 Cook working at Leigh Infirmary working between the hours of 06.00am and 8.00pm working 5 weekends out of a 7 week rota working 37.5 hours per week.

Working in a busy hospital unit serving and preparing meals for both internal and external business within our Central Production Unit where we operate a Cook Chill process, the ideal candidate should have a sound knowledge of cook chill procedures and experience in this area and significant relevant catering experience

We are looking for someone with experience cooking in different styles and cuisines – they should be hard-working, organised, creative, and passionate about food and customer service.

You will be able to work in a high-pressure, high-turnover environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a team player and also able to work unsupervised. You will also be able to work a flexible schedule including days, weekends and public holidays.

Applicants must possess:

Sound knowledge of a large scale cook chill process

Be Able to demonstrate this knowledge at interview -

  • Food preparation and cooking, plating, presentation
  • Kitchen maintenance and cleaning
  • Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies
  • Menu planning
  • Following food safety requirements

Candidates will be required to present original certificates for qualifications at interview stage.
